Riyadh: Two students from Pakistan International School, English Section, Riyadh (PISES) topped the British Council's IGCSE exam, one of the world's most popular international exams for higher schooling in physics and english subjects.
"Hamza Hamid Hussain topped in the world in physics while Laiba Arshad Khan was declared the worldwide topper in English," Muhammad Tanveer, PISES acting principal, told Arab News on Tuesday.
"Moreover, four of our students got top positions in Riyadh as — Anusha Sultan Meo and Mariam Asad got first position in biology whereas Zainab Tariq and Syed Hadi Hussain Rizvi topped in Math," he said.
Tanveer said although the students of PISES have been making their mark at the victory stand for many years, "it is the first time that our six students are among the highest achievers in the world and in the Kingdom."
"This outstanding performance reflects the devotion and dedication of the teachers, hard work and enthusiasm of students coupled with keen and watchful role of parents. Certainly, it would not have been possible without a harmonized effort of these three stake holders," he observed.
