Malegaon: Shabbir Masihullah, one of the accused arrested in the 2006 Malegaon blast case and later released on bail, died Monday evening following an accident.

Family sources while talking to the ummid.com said Shabbir Masihullah was taken to a hospital in nearby Dhule after he met with an accident Monday afternoon.
"Shabbir Masihullah died in a hopsital in Dhule Monday in the evening. He was taken to Dhule in the afternoon after he was critically injured in an accident", the family membrs said.
It is informed that the wall compound of his house collapsed on Shabbir Masihullah Monday afternoon.
His 11-year old son is also said to be injured along with Shabbir Masihullah. He is under treatment in a local hospital.
Shabbir Masihullah was one of the nine Muslims arrested by the Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) in the 2006 blast in a Malegaon mosque and at Mushawerat chowk.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) later deteced the involvement of the Hindu terrorists in the 2008 and 2006 blasts cases. The Muslim accused were then released on bail. The case is still pending in the court.
After release on bail, Shabbir also contested the Malegaon civic election held in 2012.
