Importance of education
Moulvi Mohammed Umar while delivering a motivating lecture on the importance of education and cleanliness said in Islam it is mandatory on all Muslims to attain knowledge. In Islam to gain knowledge and use it for the benefit of mankind has been elevated to the level of worship to the Almighty. It is through righteous education that one comes out of superstitious beliefs and achieves freedom from blindly following the irrational traditions of their forefathers.
Moulvi Umar said Islam widened the scope of knowledge and put it on a vast canvas whereas before the advent Islam education and knowledge of the world around was confined to a very limited circle. Before Islam the creations of the Creator such as sun, moon, stars, sky, seas, rivers, mountains, earth etc. were considered to be as all objects of worship. Due to this misconception that these creations being objects of worship research on them was desisted which thereby kept the humanity at bay from accruing the benefits from these objects. However, Islam rejected this view and allowed research on these creations of the Almighty which were created for the service of mankind. The findings of the research on these objects have been utilized for the benefits of the humanity the world over, he asserted.
He, however, cautioned Muslims that besides attaining knowledge and equipping themselves with the precious pearls of higher and quality education, an equal emphasis should be laid on character building to imbibe moral values of the highest order. If this is not done then without these moral values any society goes berserk and is a bane for the humanity at large.
Change the Muslims' mindset
Sagheer Baidaar, president of MECAPS, in his presidential address said that the organization would be completing 30 years of its existence in September this year which would be celebrated in a fitting manner. He said that in last three decades MECAPS has played some role to change the mindset of Muslims after Independence which was buried a fathom deep in the defeatist mentality. He said that every challenge can be overcome with willpower and hard work".
"Isi Mulk Mein Hamein Rahna Hai Kyonki Yeh Hamara Mulk Hai Aur Musalmano Ko Jamhuriyat Ke Daere Mein Rahte Huai Apna Huq Ladkar Hasil Karna Hai", Sagheer asserted.
He said: "MECAPS has been able to start the process to change the mindset of Muslims to uplift them from the mentality that they are second class citizens of India.
