Jeddah: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah warned against being deceived by rumors circulated on social networking sites about the sale of Hajj visas.
In a statement obtained by the International Islamic News Agency (IINA), the ministry stressed on the need to use the electronic tracking system as the correct way to get a Hajj visa and not to pay attention to rumor-mongers whose victims will be the pilgrims as they may not be able to perform the pilgrimage.
The ministry underlined that it undertakes a daily monitoring of the number of pilgrims who have been granted Hajj visas and their arrival details, urging the Offices of Pilgrims' Affairs and service organizers to expedite ending the Hajj visa procedures.
The ministry pointed out that it is closely cooperating with the official authorities and making all necessary measures to pursue those involved in such rumors, both inside and outside the Kingdom.
The ministry called on those wishing to perform Hajj to seek reliable information from the portal of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
