Girl stripped

Muzaffarnagar:
A warden furios after blood was seen in a bathroom allegedly forced some 70 girl students to strip and later told them to sit in the classroom naked in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar, according to media reports.

The warden was furious after she saw specs of blood in a bathroom. She forced the girl students to strip so as to checke who among them was menstruating, the reports said.

The incident took place in the Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School on Sunday when there were no other teachers around

According to a complaint filed by the parents of the school, the girls were not just humiliated by the warden, she allegedly threatened worse if they disobeyed her, District Education Officer Chandrakesh Yadav has said, NDTV reported Friday.

"There was no teacher around. We were called downstairs (from the hostel). Madam made us take off our clothes saying she will beat us if we did not. We are kids, what could we do? She would have beaten us if we did not obey her," one of the students said, according to PTI.

The warden, however, has denied the allegations.

"No one asked them to remove clothes. All this is a conspiracy by the staff because they do not want me to stay here. I had been asked to check whether the staff were performing their duties. I am strict, that is why they hate me," she said.

Meanwhile, 35 out of the total 65 students of the school left after the reports of harassment by the warden surfaced.

The Yogi Adityanath government has ordered a probe into the incident.

"A five-member team has been formed. They are investigating the case and the warden will be removed soon. There is zero tolerance towards such acts," District Education Officer Yadav said.
