New Delhi: To ensure that passengers could book tickets easier and faster, the Indian Railways is planning to launch a new IRCTC website and Android based mobile App with multiple new features.
Key features include easier login and registration, smoother navigation and user friendly menus. Besides, passengers won’t be facing the issue of getting timed out.
What happens currently is that if someone doesn’t perform any action on the website or the App for few minutes, he finds himself logged out.
The other features include display of confirmed tickets and dates to help passengers plan their journey by relying on data analytics.
There would be provisions in the new system to curb the misuse of Tatkal booking system.
With the launch of new website and App the Indian Railways is aiming to enhance its business by wooing users who prefer other travel websites and Apps over it.
Indian Railways is a State owned national transporter, and responsible for rail transport in India. It is owned and operated by the Government of India through the Ministry of Railways.
Every day millions of people travle through India's rail network. Thousands of people log in to IRCTC Railway Reservation website to book tickets.
