Mumbai: As India commemorates with pain the 71st death anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi Wednesday, a right-wing Hindu group shockingly celebrated and re-enacted his assassination with joy in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh.
In a shocking video that has gone viral on social media, Hindu Mahasabha national secretary Puja Shakun Pandey is seen shooting the effigy of Mahatma Gandhi amid cheers and raised slogan "Mahatma Nathuram Godse amar hai".
After she “shoots at” the effigy, a red-coloured liquid is seen flowing from the effigy and somebody is heard saying "is ka khoon bahut ganda tha".
Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatama Gandhi, was member of Hindu Mahasabha.
The video is widely shared on social media mainly by the people who are shocked by the shameful act done on 30th January the day Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse in 1948.
Puja Shakun Pandey later told reporters that her organisation has started a new tradition by recreating the assassination, and it will now be practised in a manner similar to the immolation of demon king Ravana on Dussehra.
Hindu Mahasabha and othe extremist Hindu gorups hates Mahatma Gandhi puting the blame of partition on him. They have earlier celebrated 30th January as Shourya Divas.
