Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief and Hyderabad MP since 2004, Asaduddin Owaisi does not own a car or other motor vehicle but possesses one rifle, one pistol and assets worth more than Rs 13 crores.
According to the affidavit submitted by him while filing the nomination papers for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Owaisi's immovable assets are worth over Rs 12 crore and movable assets are over Rs 1.67 crore.
Owaisi also said he owned no motor vehicle, but has one NP bore .22 pistol worth Rs 1 lakh and one NP bore 30-60 rifle worth Rs 1 lakh.
He has Rs 2 lakh cash in hand. His income during 2017-18 was Rs 10,01,080. It was Rs 13,33,250 during 2016-17. The grand total of his liabilities is Rs 9.30 crore. There are five criminal cases pending against him. He was not convicted for any criminal offence, Owaisi said in his declaration.
Asaduddin Owaisi filed nomination papers in Hyderabad on Monday. After filing nomination papers he exuded confidence that he will win the Old City parliamentary seat once again.
"Hyderabad Parliamentary constituency has been the voice of India's impoverished, oppressed and weak. Inshallah, it will continue to be so," Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted after filing the papers.
Asaduddin Owaisi, who has been awarded 'Sansad Ratna award 2014', is continuously winning the Parliamentary elections from Hyderabad since 2004. His father, Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, represented the Muslim dominated seat in Telangana consecutively for six terms since 1984.
Polling for the 2019 General Elections in Hyderabad and 16 other seats in Telangana will be held on April 11, 2019. The counting of votes will be done on May 23. The results will also be declared on the same day. [With PTI inputs]
