Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir): Three Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) jawans were shot dead by their colleague after an altercation on Wednesday at a camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur.
The CRPF personnel is also critically injured as he tried to kill himself after killing his colleagues.
Quoting officials news agency PTI reported that the alleged fratricide incident occurred at around 10 pm Wednesday when constable Ajit Kumar shot three of his colleagues from his service rifle at the 187th battalion camp of the force in the Battal Ballian area in Udhampur.
"Ajit Kumar hails from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh and was rushed to a military hospital nearby", officials said.
The three dead are head constables, Pokarmal R of Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan and Yogendra Sharma of Delhi. The third personnel, Umed Singh, was a resident of Rewari in Haryana.
The latest incident comes over two months after a CRPF personnel fired at his two colleagues before killing himself at a camp in Panthchowk in Srinagar on January 7. Senior officials said that he was disturbed due to "personal issues".
