Maryam Ajmal Women’s College bags top two ranks in Assam HSSLC 2020 exams

Assam HSSLC Toppers 2020

Guwahati: In Assam’s Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) that is 12th Board Examinations, students of Maryam Ajmal Women’s College bagged two top positions.

Saima Abdul Ahad, a student of Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Arts, Hojai (Assam) secured second rank in Arts steam of 2020 HS Final Examination, while Asifa Naznin Laskar, a student of Maryam Women’s College of Science and Technology, Hojai got 9th rank in Science stream, earning their respective colleges good name and making their parents, college administration, patrons, trustees and director proud of their achievement.

AHSCE 12th resut 2020 was declared on Thursday June 25. As many as 25 students secured their place in the list of toppers in the AHSEC Science stream.

Abhinash Kalita is the Science topper and also the State Topper in the 2020 HS exam. He scored 486 marks (97.2 per cent).

Nayema Firdous Borbhuyan of Concept Junior College Nagaon scored 482 out of the total 500 and bagged the 2nd in Assam board 2020 AHSEC Science stream exam 2020.

Pubali Deka of Patharighat Higher Secondary School in Darrang and Shraddha Borgohain of Ramanujan Junior College in Nagaon have scored a total of 481 - 96.2% marks out of 500 to bag the top rank in Art stream AHSEC exam 2020 in Assam state.

Krishna Maheshwari topped the Commerce stream with 471 marks.

Schools and colleges run under Ajmal Foundation, a Hojai-based registered public charitable trust, have been doing extremely well over the years. Many students in the past have got state and district ranks in 10th and 12th board exams. Amar Singh Thapa, topped in Science stream of Class 12 Assam Higher Secondary Examination in 2018.

The Ajmal Foundation has been carrying out charitable work in the field of education, skill development, women empowerment, poverty alleviation and relief and rehabilitation. The Foundation has 25 colleges which includes a B Ed College and a Law College. Some of these colleges are residential.

During the ongoing lockdown, Ajmal CSR, a unit of the Ajmal Foundation distributed food and other necessary items among the poor and needy persons on a large scale.
