NEET 2020 Revised Schedule: The National Testing Agency (NTA) Friday postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) [NEET UG 2020] due to the worsening condition owing to Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
"In view of the hardships faced by the parents and the students due to COVID-19 epidemic, the National Testing Agency has postponed the ensuing NEET (UG) May 2020 examination scheduled to be held on the 3rd May 2020", the NTA said in an official notification dated March 27, 2020.
The NTA did not mention in its notification the new date and revised schedule of NEET 2020. It however said that the all important medical entrance will now be held in the last week of May, 2020.
"As of now the examination is proposed to be held in the last week on May 2020. Exact date will be announced later on after assessing the situation", the NTA said in the notification.
The NTA also said that NEET 2020 Admit Card or Hall Ticket supposed to be released today will also be delayed.
"The Admit Cards for the Examination which were to be issued on 27th March 2020 will now be issued later on after assessing the situation after 15th April 2020 only", the NTA said.
The NTA had earlier postponed JEE Main April 2020. The decision was taken after CBSE cass 10 and class 12, and ISC class 12 and ICSE class 10 exams along with boards exams conducted by various boards were also postponed due to Coronavirus Outbreak.
Clearing National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) will make candidates eligible for admission to First year MBBS, BDS, BUMS, BAMS, BHMS and other medical courses.
