Kerala/Mumbai: Three days after a Class 10 student was diagnosed of Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Mumbai, another student of the same age group was Saturday tested positive for the new virus.

Kerala health department sources said a 10th standard student of a government school, who appeared for the SSLC examination this month, is among the positive cases detected in Kerala, news agency PTI reported.

The report said that her father, who had returned from abroad on March 17, has also tested positive whereas two others of the family are under observation, the report said.

At least 19 other students were also there in the class the affected girl had written the exam on March 19. The Kerala board had on March 20 postponed the SSLC 2020 exams.

"Efforts were on to trace all those with whom the student is suspected to have come in contact", the sources said.

On the first day of the nationwide lockdown Wednesday, a 15-year-old Class 10 (SSC, Matric) student was tested positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The Mumbai student's father was infected by Coronavirus after he returned to Mumbai from Delhi on March12.

Kerala meanwhile reported the first Coronavirus death of the state when a 69-year-old succumbed Saturday. The man had recently travelled to Dubai and tested positive for Coronavirus after his return to India.
