Riyadh: Saudi Arabia Saturday reported another Coronavirus related death that took the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the Kingdom to 04.
The Saudi Health Ministry further said that a total of 1203 people have so far been found to have been infected with the new virus which originated from China's Wuhan.
Globally, Coronavirus has infected close to 650,000 people. More than 30,000 people from different parts of the world have died because of the Covid-19 infection, according to the the latest Coronavirus update as on Sunday morning.
Saudi Arabia is under nationwide curfew since last week. The Kingdowm had last Tuesday announced night curfew from evening 7 to 6 in the morning. The authorities however extended the curfew hours from 03:00 pm to 06:00 am.
The Kingdom has also suspended all inbound flights and travel to Saudi Arabia, including Umrah pilgrimage to Makkah to contain the Coronavirus epidemic impact.
The Kingdom has also suspended five-time daily and Frisday special prayers in all mosques. It has also restricted prayers near the Kaaba and in the Mataaf area of Makkah Haram Mosque since February.
Meanwhile, uncertainty prevailed over the Ramadan Umrah season 2020 due to continued lockdown in Saudi Arabia and other parts of the world announced to control Covid-19 spread.
Almost all regular international flights connecting different countries have been grounded, and there is no words from the officials when they will resume operation.
The likely start date of Ramadan 2020 is April 23 or April 24, depending on the sighting of the new moon as per the tradition of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
About 25 to 30 million people come to Makkah to perform Umrah during Ramadan - the Muslim holy month of fasting. People book flights and plan the Ramadan Umrah travels months in advance.
However, due to Coronavirus outbreak, a number of travel agents are receiving calls from Umrah aspirants to cancel their bookings.
