Seoul: South Korean Opposition Party Leader Lee Jae-myung was stabbed in the neck Tuesday January 02, 2023 when he was addressing a press conference in the port city of Busan.
Chilling videos shared online show, Lee was walking in a crowd of journalists after visiting the site of a new airport when a man in front of him lunged and struck him in the neck, footage on South Korean television channels showed.

The 59-year-old was seen collapsing to the ground as people rushed for help. One man was seen pressing a handkerchief on Lee's neck, according to news agency AFP.
Lee Jae-myung, who narrowly lost the presidential elections in 2022, was stabbed on the left side of his neck sustaining a 1cm laceration.
The attacker who appeared to be a man in his 60s to 70s, reportedly approached Lee asking for an autograph, before suddenly lunging forward to stab him.
Lee was rushed to a local hospital on a helicopter where Police said his wounds are not life threatening, according to BBC.
According to Yonhap news agency, Lee was bleeding but conscious as he was transported to the Pusan National University Hospital.
The attacker, who was seen wearing a hat with Lee's name on it, has been arrested at the crime scene.
Lee lost the country's 2022 elections to conservative Yoon Suk Yeol in the tightest presidential race in South Korea's history.
