On 100th day of Israel's Gaza War, massive protests in US, UK and other parts of world

Washington/London: Condemning the continued U.S. support to the Zionists, thousands of Americans gathered outside White House in Washington DC Sunday January 14, 2024 as the Israeli brutal war against the Palestinians in Gaza Strip entered 100th day.

'Biden, Shame on You'

Carrying National Flag of the State of Palestine, holding high banners that read “Resistance against occupation is a Human Right” and chanting slogans “Biden, Shame on You”, the Americans early hours Sunday marched towards the White House in protest against the involvement of the US administration in the genocide that Israel is committing in Gaza.

Some of the placards that the protesters are holding read, “No votes for Genocide Joe,” “Biden has blood on his hands” and “Let Gaza live.”

Some pro-Palestine protesters are also carrying South African flag chanting slogans in its support whose accusations of genocide against Israel prompted the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the Hague, Netherlands, to take up the case, according to the Associated Press.

London erupts 7 times in 100 days

On Saturday as part of a global day of action in 30 countries, thousands of people thronged the streets in London and other parts of the world protesting the Israeli massacre of Palestinians and demanding immediate end of the brutal war in Gaza.

Demonstrators in the UK capital carried placards emblazoned with "ceasefire now" and a giant puppet of a Syrian child refugee, named Little Amal, accompanied the march to highlight child refugees, according to BBC.

Thousands of demonstrators began gathering in the Bank area of central London around mid-day on Saturday, before heading west along Fleet Street on the planned route to Parliament Square in Westminster.

Saturday’s rally in London was the 7th national pro-Palestinian march held in London to protest the relentless bombing of Gaza by the Israeli Occupation Forces started following the Hamas’ Operation Al Aqsa Flood on Oct 7 killing around 1,300 people and taking hostage more than 240.

Palestine after 100 days of barbarism

The Israeli forces in its response resorted to massacre and genocide of Palestinians killing 23,708 in Gaza and 347 in the occupied West Bank.

Israel cites self-defence and claims to eliminate Hamas militants involved in Oct 7 attack. However, the Palestine Health Ministry data showed more than 70 per cent of those killed in the Israeli bombing in Gaza are women and children.

The 100 days of Israeli bombing have partially or fully damaged more than 50 percent of residential buildings in Gaza, 15 of 36 hospitals, close to 70 per cent schools and educational institutions, 142 mosques, 3 churches, 121 ambulances.

The Israeli blockade has also left close to 576,600 Palestinians facing catastrophic hunger and starvation and 625,000 students out of schools, according to Al Jazeera.

Palestine solidarity rallies in other parts of world

Protests in solidarity with the Palestinians also held in Indonesia, Malaysia and a number of European cities including Paris, Rome, Milan and Dublin, where thousands marched along the Irish capital’s main thoroughfare to protest Israel’s military operations in the Palestinian enclave.

Protesters waved Palestinian flags, held placards critical of the Irish, U.S. and Israeli governments and chanted, “Free, free Palestine.″

In Rome, hundreds of demonstrators descended on a boulevard near the famous Colosseum, with some carrying signs reading, “Stop Genocide.”

At one point during the protest, amid the din of sound effects mimicking exploding bombs, a number of demonstrators lied down in the street and pulled white sheets over themselves as if they were corpses, while others knelt beside them, their palms daubed in red paint, according to AP.
