Hyderabad: School of Science (SoS), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Monday March 04, 2024 organised first International Urdu Conference with a focus on dominance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and titled 'Science for a Sustainable Future'.

"Scientists are coming out with solutions to human concerns and really this is needed. We started our journey from gravity to relativity now something more, the age of Artificial intelligence is dominating", Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) said in the inaugural session of the Urdu Science Conference 2024.

"MANUU is providing platform for the promotion of scientific studies", Prof. Ainul Hasan said hailing 150 Science Models presented at the conference by students of 23 schools.

Prof. Basuthkar Jagadeeshwar Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Hyderabad Central University in his address said that every GDP centric growth activity will end up damaging environmental eco-system.

"Human body develops as a negative intro base system. When we organize ourselves, we disorganize our surroundings compensatively. The entropy in the surroundings will increase at cost of our development", he said.

"Whole process is such that when you develop something, something else will get undeveloped, that the design. The conference is covering two important points - Contribution of Women in Science and the role of science for shaping of the minds of students both connecting into the sustainability of the future. These are very important threads getting interwoven today and tomorrow", he added.

Prof. Ahmad Kamal, Sr. Professor Emeritus, BITS-PILANI, Hyderabad, through his power point presentation highlighted on the topic, "Improving Sustainability through Pharmaceutical Green Chemistry" and detailed about steps involved in making medicines in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

Continuing his presentation he said, in today's era, humans have collected many resources of development for their medical treatment but these resources are harming the environment and ecosystem.

"Today, many laws have been made regarding the protection of the environment. Special care is now being taken whether it be pharmaceutical industry or any other industrial waste, proper disposal and minimizing the damage to the environment has become the first priority", he said.

Earlier, Prof. Salman Ahmed Khan, Dean, SoS delivered a welcome address. The Convenor Conference, Dr Salahuddin Syed, Associate Professor (Chemistry) briefed about the conference and proposed vote of thanks. Dr. Majid Ali Choudhry, Assistant Professor (Mathematics) was the co-convenor.
