Explosions heard across Israeli capital Tel Aviv as Iran launched ‘Operation True Promise III’ Saturday to avenge Israel’s ‘Operation Rising Lion’ forcing PM Benjamin Netanyahu to hide in underground shelter with his family and staff.
Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles on Tel Aviv and other occupied Palestinian territories under the Zionist control Friday night hitting multiple targets.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) of Iran continued its military operation against, what it called, “Israeli aggression” for whole of the night that continued till Saturday morning.
“The third phase of Iran’s retaliatory military operation – True Promise III – began at around 1:30 am Iran time after two successful phases in which many strategic Israeli sites were targeted”, official Press TV reported.

According to various Israeli media reports, in the latest wave, missiles impacted areas in Tel Aviv, occupied Jerusalem al-Quds, Lake Tiberias, Haifa, Beersheba and other places.
“Iran launched several barrages of ballistic missiles at Israel Friday night and early Saturday morning, sending Israelis across the country rushing to shelters as the skies were filled with streaks of light and fireballs from incoming projectiles and Israeli interceptions”, The Times of Israel said.
Citing the Israeli Occupation Forces, the newspaper said Iran launched “four waves of attacks overnight each consisted of dozens of missiles” that killed at least 5 and injured scores of others.
The most severe damage was reported in Tel Aviv, where at least one missile struck a 50-story building, triggering a powerful explosion that sent columns of smoke rising over the city skyline. Iran has also claimed hitting a nuclear research center in Tel Aviv.
Iran's ongoing military operation is in response to the Israeli airstrikes early on Friday, which targeted multiple cities across Iran, including the capital Tehran, focused on high-profile assassinations.
"Iran has shown that - however weakened it may be in comparison to a year or two ago - it can still put up a fierce response to Israel's unprecedented attack", Sebastian Usher, BBC Middle East Regional Editor, said.
Earlier, Iran's Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said the calls for restraint in the Islamic Republic's response to Israeli attacks are "unjustified".
Writing on Telegram, Araghchi described a meeting he had with British foreign minister David Lammy.
The post said Araqchi told Lammy that Israel's actions violated Iran's national sovereignty and that he criticised European support of the Israeli government.
