A video showing Donald Trump announcing a ban on Tesla cars production in the United States now viral on different social media platforms is not real but AI generated, a fact check analysis revealed.

In the video, U.S. President Trump is seen sitting in the Oval Office, White House in his trademark style.

The video shows Trump announcing a ban on all the productions of Tesla cars in the United States.
Trump is also portrayed as saying all sorts of bad things about Elon Musk’s Tesla cars.

“Nobody likes Tesla anyways unless you’re a nerd… They catch fire and break down easily..So, its effectively not the best electric car out there…”, Trump is seen telling in the video.

Trump is also shown telling that the price of the Tesla cars is just $69.

In the same video, Tesla also recalled how he bought a Tesla car few months ago in support of, and to show solidarity with Elon Musk, amidst the boycott calls of the premium EVs.

“But till then I had not driven the Tesla…” Trump is seen saying in the video.

The video is going viral amidst the growing feud between Trump and Elon Musk – who was till two weeks ago an important member of Trump administration.

Musk, however, resigned as President DOGE, and is also publicly criticizing Trump, even calling for the latter’s impeachment.

The Tesla ban video is wildly shared on social media platforms X, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

Fact Check Analysis

A fact check analysis of the viral video by D-Intent Data however found it to be AI generated.

“An AI-generated video of the US president, Donald Trump, is being circulated with the claim that he intends to ban the production of Tesla vehicles in the USA following a recent fallout with Elon Musk. However, this video is not authentic”, D-Intent Data, said.

“It was generated using AI. The video was uploaded on Instagram (dangerousaireturns) and TikTok account of thedangerousai2 (known for sharing AI content). Although the video has since been removed from the Tiktok account's timeline, it still appears in Google search results”, the propaganda and fake news detection centre, added.

Social media users on X have also added context to the video, declaring, "This video contains AI-generated content. It originates from the Instagram account DangerousAIReturns, which specializes in creating and distributing AI-generated or deepfake videos."

Nonetheless, American media is how reporting that Trump is considering parting ways with his red Tesla car following the feud with Elon Musk.
