Four
women display paintings at Indian fest in Dhaka

Dhaka:
Paintings by four women artistes are being exhibited here as part
of an Indian cultural festival.
The festival, Ananda Jagya, is being organised by Indira Gandhi
Cultural Centre (IGCC), High Commission of India in Dhaka and
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).
Deepa Seth Bhando, Sonika Agarwal, Ruchi Goyal Kaura and Sandhya
Singh are featured in a group art exhibition called 'Harmony and
Rhythm'.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the exhibition.
Most of the exhibits focus on the position of women South Asian
society that remains by and large conservative, The Daily Star
said Wednesday.
The exhibition is part of the cultural festival that opened in
Dhaka, Chittagong and Rajshahi last week, featuring Indian dances,
plays, arts and cradfts and films.
