Priyanka wins essay competition on Prophet Mohammad's life

Prophet Mohammed: A Messiah for Our Time

Mumbai: In an impressive show of performance, Priyanka Deepak Shinde - a non-Muslim girl-student from Marathi Medium School, outsmarted other participants to win the essay competition organised on the life of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).

 

The achievement of Priyanka Shinde, who came from Adarsh Vidyalay, Mumbra becomes more profound owing as she had to compete some of the Muslim students in her category before securing the first place in the competition.

 

According to event coordinator Ziaul Islam, the inter school speech and essay competition on the topic Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for all was organised by Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Mumbra-Kausa Unit in Mumbai suburb as part of the state level campaign by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra.

 

"The objective of the competition was to disseminate the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) among the students & to propagate the message that Muhammad (PBUH) is not only a mercy for Muslims, but a Mercy for all creations", he said.

 

While the organisers received 250 essays from 20 schools in Marathi, Hindi, English & Urdu languages highlighting various aspects of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him),  40 students from as many schools participated in the speech competition.

 

In yet another impressive show, Eisha Uttam Dhabe of Babaji Patil School, Mumbra delivered her wonderfully articulated speech on the life of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) in Marathi. Since she was the lone participant in her category, the organisers awarded her special prizes.

 

Other winners of the competition are Fatima Tabassum (1st in Hindi Medium, Junior Group), Adnan Bamne (1st in Hindi Medium, Senior Group, Aqsa Ashraf Surve (1st in English Medium, Senior Group, Uwais Safdar Ulde (1st in English Medium, Junior Group), Momin Akram Mehmood (1st in Urdu Medium, Senior Group) and Shaikh Tamanna Zakir (1st in Urdu Medium, Junior Group).

 

Uwais Safdar Ulde and Mohammad Waqar held the first positions in speech competition in Junior and Senior Groups respectively.

 

The speech competition held on the 31st of January 2010 at Ahmed Abdullah Garib Polytechnic, Kausa was for the students of standard 5th to 10th divided into Senior & junior group.

 

Shaikh Rafeeque Madani (HOD Arabic, Islamic International School), Dr. Irshad (Principal BMC school, Ph.D Urdu Language), Prof Safdar Ulde (Rizvi Junior college), Zaheer M K (Research & Development, Mahindra & Mahindra) were the judges for the competition.

 

Maulana Khalid Jameel Makki (Lecturer, Ex-Principal Jamia Islamiya, Mumbra) was the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony.
