15 killed in Iran's military base explosions

Saturday November 12, 2011 09:28:38 PM, IANS

Tehran: At least 15 people were killed and many more were injured as two powerful explosions hit a military base Saturday southwest of capital Tehran, Xinhua quoted the local media as stating.

The blasts occurred in an ammunition depot of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in Bidganeh village in the northern Alborz province, about 35 km west of Tehran.

The blasts were so powerful that windows of buildings near the site were shattered.

State TV quoted an IRGC official as saying that "some of those injured are in critical condition".
