London: An Italian court has ordered a woman to remove honeymoon photos from Facebook following a marital row.
Demanding that the photographs be removed from the social media platform as he did not give his permission to make them public, her husband took the woman to court, media reports said.
The court in Naples observed that the woman had broken Article 10 of the civil code and "certainly violated the right to privacy of her husband".
The pictures included photos of the pair cuddling and kissing.
The wife's lawyer claimed that "the use of social networks is now so advanced that we can consider a Facebook wall to be not unlike a private photo album".
Welcoming the judgment, the husband's lawyer said that "it is an unprecedented decision which will provide a point of reference for Facebook users".
The wife may have to pay damages to her husband, reports added.
