Rabat: A Moroccan girl posing as an Indian actress on her Facebook page swindled large sums of money from a Saudi man before she was arrested in Morocco.
His dreams of marrying a beautiful actress were dashed.
After communicating with her for a few weeks, the unnamed man began sending her money before he asked her to marry him.
Morocco's 'Safinow' newspaper said the girl, who posted a picture of an Indian actress on Facebook, quickly agreed and asked him to fly to Morocco to see her mother.
"He flew to Morocco but the presumed lover was not at the airport as promised. He started to call her on the mobile but it was turned off," the paper said.
"After waiting for several hours, he realised he was a victim of a deceptive woman. He informed the police who succeeded in locating the girl and her mother. Both were arrested as all the money was sent to the mother's account."
