Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University's Dr Yasir Hasan Siddique has been conferred with the Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists (ISCB) Young Scientist Award-2015 at Lucknow.
Dr Yasir, who works as an Assistant Professor with AMU's Department of Zoology is working on 'Drosophilia Melanogaster' as a model for studying the toxic effects of various nano-composites/synthetic/naturally occurring compounds.
Earlier, Dr Yasir has been a recipient of eight awards at the National Level. He has authored three books in the field of toxicology and natural products.
He has also published 122 research papers in peer reviewed national and international journals. Dr Yasir has completed three major research projects and currently has three research grants from CSIR, DST and ICMR.
He has also received the prestigious UGC-Faculty Research Award in 2014 to carry out the research on Parkison disease using Drosophila as a model. Dr Yasir is a fellow and member of various scientific societies.
