Maharashtra SSC 2019 Board Exam: The question papers of Algebra, Geometry and Science of the Maharasthra State Board's Class 10 or SSC examination were allegedly leaked in Thane district of Maharashtra, police said on Wednesday.
"A case is registered in this connection", a police spokesperson said.
Maharashtra state Class 10 or Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations began on March 1. Last paper is on March 22.
According to the board, the question papers of algebra, geometry and science subjects were allegedly leaked on social media on March 11, 13, 15 and 18, before these SSC exam schedules, in Thane's Bhiwandi town, the official is quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.
"The board in its complaint raised suspicion over two exam co-ordination centres in Bhiwandi", she said.
"Based on the complaint, a case was registered on Tuesday under IPC Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) and provisions of the Information Technology Act as well as the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices at University, Board and Other Specified Examinations Act", the official said.
No arrest was made so far, the police said, adding that a probe was underway.
Mathematics Paper I (Algebra) was held on Monday March 11, 2019 whereas Mathematics Paper II (Geometry) was held on Wednesday March 13, 2019. Science and Technology Paper I was held on Friday March 15, 2019 whereas Sceince and Technology Paper II was held on Monday March 18, 2019.
The SSC or Class 10 exam in Maharshtra is conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). The board is an autonomous body constituted under the provisions of the Maharashtra Act No. 41 of 1965. The office of the board at present is in Pune.
