Two from Malegaon test Coronavirus positive in UP's Bulandshahr

Malegaon/Bulandshahr: Two residents of Malegaon, Maharashtra are among three tested positive for novel Coronavirus in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, a media report said.

All three tested positive for Coronavirus in Bulandshahr on Tuesday are associated with Tablighi Jamaat, news agency ANI reported.

"Three more Tablighi Jamaat members tested coronavirus positive in Bulandshahr. They are identified as Tasim a native of Bagpat, Noor Mohammad and Tausif Ahmad, both natives of Maharashtra's Malegaon", ANI said in a report Tuesday.

Talking to local newspapers, Tablighi Jamaat Markaz in Malegaon confirmed that a group associated with the Jamaat is in Bulandshahr of Uttar Pradesh.

The Markaz however refused to confirm or deny the reports of its members being tested positive for the deadly disease.

Malegaon has so far been free from Coronavirus (Covid-19). As many as 10 Corona suspects were admitted at the Malegaon General Hospital in March. But, the reports of all of them confirmed they are Coronavirus negative.

Earlier, as many as 133 residents of Malegaon were monitored after their return to the city from abroad. Some of them were advised self-isolation and self-quarantine for a period of 14 days.

Medical investigation conducted on them after 14-day self-isolation period confirmed that they were not infected by the virus.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh has decided to 'firmly implement' the lockdown and 'completely seal' 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh that have emerged as Corona hotspots.

One of the Corona hotspots is Bulandshahr. Besides Bulandshahr, other districts that have hotspots include Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Sitapur, Kanpur, Agra, Ferozabad, Bareilly, Meerut, Shamli, Saharanpur, Varanasi, Maharajganj and Basti.

The hotspots will remain sealed till April 15 during which intensive sanitization work will be undertaken.
