Malegaon: The lone Coronavirus suspect who was admitted to Malegaon General Hospital Saturday has been tested negative, the health officials said.
"We received the suspect's diagnostic report from Mumbai lab today afternoon. The suspect is not infected by Coronavirus", Dr Kishor Dange, Health Officer Malegaon, told ummid.com.
The suspect was in the UAE from February 27 to March 03, 2020. The suspect had returned to Malegaon on March 04.
"Back home, the suspect had taken medical advice and also observed self-isolation for 14 days", Dr Dange said.
"However, on Friday he noticed some uneasiness in his health condition and also reported fever and cough. Following this he himself approached the hospital", Dr Dange said.
"Realising the gravity of the situation, we sent his samples for further investigation to testing lab. The testing lab in its diagnostic confirm that the suspect is not infected by coronavirus", Dr Dange said.
"There is no coronavirus positive cases in Malegaon as of now", Dr Dange said.
Meanwhile, the 14-day quarantine period of the other entrepreneur who returned to Malegaon from Dubai in the first week of March and was suggested self-isolation, is over. His latest medical reports confirmed him to be fit and healthy, the health officials said.
On the other hand, complying with the appeals issued by the government, Malegaon too joined the country on Sunday 'Janata Curfew' or self-lockdown.
The city witnessed near total shutdown throughout the day, though in some parts people came out of their homes after 5:00 pm in the evening.
