Mumbai: The UAE Passport is the most powerful passport in the world, according to Global Passport Power Rank 2024 released by global citizenship financial advisory firm Arton Capitol Tuesday January 02, 2024.
The UAE passport has been placed on the top position based on its mobility score of 180.
The citizens holding a UAE passport can travel to 130 countries without the requirement of a prior visa, and 50 countries with a visa required on arrival.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is followed by Germany, Spain, France, Italy and The Netherlands – the five countries that have the second most powerful passports, according to Arton Capital.
The Arton Capital's Passport Index created in 2014 is an interactive online tool that allows users to discover the world of passports by learning about their power and their significance in today’s ever-increasing global world.
It calculates different passport’s Global Mobility Score, improve their ranking, and discover the latest news and sharpest insights on visa policies, biometric technology, country branding, public security, philanthropy, foreign policy, and more.
Arton Capital said the methodology of its Passport Index has been thoroughly crafted to ensure absolute accuracy and consistency.
"Data is based on proprietary research from publicly available sources and official information provided by government agencies", the firm said.
"The passports considered in our index include 193 United Nations members and 6 selected territories. Territories that do not issue their own passports are excluded and are not considered as destinations. Countries that issue passports, regardless if they enforce independent visa policies are considered as destinations", it said.
Five countries - Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg, have been ranked 3rd and Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Ireland and South Korea are placed at the 4th position.
Singapore Passport, which is the world most powerful passport in the world as per Henley Passport Index, is on the 5th spot in the Passport Power Ranking 2024 published by Arton Capitol.
Singapore shares the 5th rank with seven other countries including Greece, Norway, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Hungry, Japan and New Zealand.
The passport of the United States has been ranked 6th by Arton Capital along with Slovakia and Australia.
Turkey passport has been ranked 36th, Qatar passport is on the 44th spot, Saudi Arabia passport is ranked 48th and the Chinese passport is ranked 52.
In India and its neighbourhood, the passport rank of India is 77, Sri Lanka 85, Nepal 86, Bangladesh 91, Pakistan 93 and that of Afghanistan the passport rank is 96.
