NEET MDS 2024 exam defferred till March 18

New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has decided to postpone NEET-MDS 2024, and also revised the cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility.

The NEET MDS 2024 was originally scheduled to be held on February 09, 2024. It will now be held on March 18, 2024, the NBEMS said.

"The NEET-MDS 2024 shall now be conducted on 18th March 2024", the board said in a notification released today.

"The cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility to appear in the NEET-MDS 2024 shall be 31st March 2024", the board added.

The board did not disclose the reason to postpone the NEET MDS.

About NEET MDS

NEET-MDS, or NEET PG MDS, is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various MDS Courses under Dentists Act, 1948 (amended from time to time).

Candidates should also note that NEET-MDS is the single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to MDS Courses.

"No State Government/Private Dental College/Universities shall be conducting any separate entrance for admission to their MDS Courses", the NBEMS categorically states.

A candidate for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery course, must possess a recognised degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery awarded by a university or institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognised dental college.

A candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination (BDS or the foreign dental degree recognized by GoI/DCI), is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotatory internship/ practical training and is likely to complete the same by the prescribed cut-off date for internship completion for a particular admission session can take up NEET-MDS examination, subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria as prescribed in the bulletin of information.
