Intel unpacks over 100 AI PCs at MWC 2024

Barcelona: Tech giant Intel announced over 100 AI PCs at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2024.

These AI PCs will be available in an array of designs with Intel PC partners Acer, ASUS, Dell, Dynabook, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft Surface, NEC, Panasonic, Samsung and VAIO.

The AI PCs will have besides other features the Intel vPro platform that extends their benefits to businesses of all sizes.

"These PCs will expand the current portfolio of AI PCs in market with new neural processing unit (NPU), graphics processing unit (GPU) and central processing unit (CPU) powered silicon that bring new AI experiences in productivity and creativity", Microsoft said in a blog post.

"These laptops have the new built-in Copilot Key, providing faster access to your everyday AI companion in Windows 11, harnessing the capabilities of AI to make the things you do every day easier. Features include helping you summarize web pages and change settings", it added.

In a separate post, Intel said, it will demonstrate at MWC 2024 breakthrough innovations across a full spectrum of new hardware, software and services – bringing AI Everywhere – for the network, edge and enterprise in collaboration with the support and enablement of more than 65 pioneering customers and partners.

The AI PCs will be powere by Intel Core Ultra processor and will be equipped with built-in Intel Arc graphics.

Additionally, the new mobile workstations also feature a new dedicated OEM-enabled Intel Arc Pro workstation graphics driver for enhanced performance optimizations across creative, design and engineering software.

"For frictionless OS transitions, Intel vPro validates and ensures Windows 10 and Windows 11 compatibility. Intel’s developer program helped deliver 99.7% application compatibility on Windows 11", Microsoft said.

“Intel is delivering innovations for its partners and their customers across network, edge and enterprises to modernize their networks, monetize new services at the edge, and bring AI everywhere,” said Sachin Katti, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the Network and Edge Group at Intel.

“Intel’s network- and edge-optimized SOC strategy uniquely integrates general purpose compute and acceleration for networking, AI and vRAN workloads, and we are announcing market-leading next generation products for 5G core with Sierra Forest and 5G vRAN with Granite Rapids-D", he added.
