San Francisco: Tech giant Microsoft Thursday February 29, 2024 released new updates for Windows 11 and Copilot, adding more value to the former and making the later more powerful.

The latest updates released for Windows 11 included AI editing capabilities in Photos, enabling easier video editing with the preview of Clipchamp, and improvements to features like Snap, Widgets and Inking.

“We are adding new AI editing capabilities in Photos designed to make creating simpler, enabling easier video editing with the preview of Clipchamp silence removal, and launching improvements to features like Snap, Widgets and Inking, making it even easier to get things done”, Microsoft said in a blog post.

Microsoft has also introduced plugins for other popular apps like OpenTable, Shopify and Kayak, as well as new skills to simplify daily tasks and use of Windows.

The new features in Copilot are built on the introduction of the Copilot Key on new Windows 11 PC keyboards, updates to the Copilot icon on the taskbar, and the ability to dock, undock and resize the Copilot pane.

Microsoft Thursday also released two new features - Generative Erase and Clipchamp silence removal preview, that the tech giant believes will make creating simpler.

“When using the Photos app, you can now select and remove unwanted objects or imperfections from your images using the new Generative Erase feature. Snapped the ideal sunset photo but want to remove the airplane flying above? Generative Erase in Photos can do just that”, the company said.

“With the addition of Clipchamp silence removal, removing the gaps in the audio track becomes easier. The preview of silence removal in Clipchamp starts to become available today”, it added.

Microsoft also released today Voice Shortcuts and Multi Display, the two features will help users finish their tasks faster.

Among other features included in the latest Windows 11 update are Intelligent Snap suggestions, Widgets, Windows Ink, and more advanced file sharing options to share contents on third part apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat and others.
