Amid reports of paper leak, UP board de-recognizes Agra Inter college

Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) Friday de-recognized Shri Atar Singh (SAS) Inter College in Rojhauli village of Agra district amid reports of 2024 Intermediate (Class 12) board exam paper leak.

The Biology and Mathematics papers of UP Class 12 Inter were shared in a WhatsApp group Thursday Feb 29, 2024.

It was found that the Maths and Biology papers were shared by Vinay Choudhary, a Computer Operator working at SAS Inter College, The Times of India reported quoting the board secretary.

The board however rejected the reports that the 12th board exam 2024 papers were leaked saying the papers were shared in the group well after the exams were commenced.

“The exam commenced at 2:00 pm whereas the question papers were shared over an hour after the commencement of the exam. Since the exam had already started and all the candidates were giving their exam at their respective exam centres, the sanctity of the examination was not affected at any level”, UP Education Board Secretary, Dibyakant Shukla, said.

However, taking cognizance of the incident, the UP board in its meeting Friday cancelled the recognition of the SAS Inter College.

The board said FIR was also filed against the Computer Operator, Centre Administrator and others responsible for conducting transparent exams.

There were also reports that English paper too was circulated on WhatsApp. The UP board however denied all the reports of paper leak and exam cancellation or re-exams.

Meanwhile, in a notice announcing de-recognition of the SAS Inter College, the UP board warned other schools and colleges against any kind of misconduct.

The UP Inter Exam 2024 started on Feb 22 and will continue till March 09, 2024.
