U.S. President Donald Trump Monday June 16, 2025 left the G-7 Summit currently underway in Canada in the midst as Iran-Israel war intensified further, hinting he is planning something very big.
Trump talked about working on "something big" after he asked the Iranians to leave Tehran.
Taking to social media platform Truth Social, Trump refuted French President Emmanuel Macron who reportedly said the U.S. President left the G-7 Summit and now on his way to Washington so as to facilitate ceasefire between Iran and Israel.
“… Wrong! He has no idea why I am on my way to Washington…. It certainly has nothing to do with ceasefire… Much bigger than that..Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong”, Trump wrote.

Trump left Canada for Washington a day before the G-7 Summit was scheduled to end. Hours later, he called for Tehran’s evacuation, asking the Iranians to leave the city of around 9.8 million.
“Iran should have signed the deal I told them to sign… What a shame, and waste of human life. Simly stated, Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran (sic)”, Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social Monday.
Trump’s sudden departure from Canada, leaving the G-7 Summit in a huddle and call for Tehran’s evacuation had earlier sparked speculations of the direct involvement of the United States in the ongoing Israel and Iran war. And, his latest post on Truth Social has only confirmed this.
The latest escalation between Iran and Israel started after Israel attacked Iran on Friday June 13, 2025 even as it was in talks with the United States on a possible nuclear deal.
Launching what it codenamed, the "Operation Rising Lion", Israel targeted several military targets, and also assassinated a number of nuclear scientists and senior IRGC Commanders.
Iran retaliated launching its military operation named "Operation True Promise III" against Israel, penetrating deep into the Israeli territories - including capital Tel Aviv, Haifa and Occupied Jerusalem.
For the next four days the two "arch-rivals" exchanged missiles and drones, inflicting damages on both the sides.
Iran accused the United States of helping Israel from behind. At the same time, Iran also warned it will attack the US military bases in the Middle East if it directly gets involved in the conflict.
There are reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone call with Trump two days ago had warned over the direct involvement of the U.S. in the ongoing war.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported several explosions and heavy air defense fire in the Iranian capital of Tehran in the early hours of Tuesday as the conflict entered its 5th day.
Iran's latest attack on Tehran came after the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) of Iran, in a new phase of the ongoing Operation True Promise III, launched a massive barrage of ballistic missiles and drones on various Iraeli territories late on Monday.
Israeli media reported that sirens sounded across the northern, central, and southern regions of Israel after Iran began the ninth phase of its retaliatory operation.
In a related development, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth earlier on Tuesday confirmed the deployment of additional “defensive capabilities” to the Middle East, without disclosing which military assets were sent over the weekend.
“Protecting US forces is our top priority, and these deployments are intended to enhance our defensive posture in the region,” Hegseth wrote on X.
According to Military Watch Magazine, the US has reportedly sent more than 30 aerial refueling tankers across the Atlantic toward the Middle East. The outlet described the buildup as “unprecedented,” suggesting it could signal broader US involvement in the Israeli-Iranian conflict.
