Nahan: All Himachal Muslim Welfare Society (AHMWS) Chairman March 27 claimed that the eight-member State Haj Committee, constituted on November 26, 2009, had become meaningless since no meeting was called after issuing notification and chairman of the Committee was not elected so far.

In a statement issued here, AHMWS chairman Nasim Mohmd Diddan said until the new notification is issued after the election of the Chairman, the Haj Committee could not function.

He said on February 27 this year the State members of the Society also met Chief Secretary, HP Government to discuss the issue of Haj Committee, who had assured of solving the issue but no step had been taken so far.

Didaan urged the Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal to call Haj Committee meeting and election for its Chairman immediately otherwise Muslims would be forced to launch statewide agitation.
