At present, 2,790 posts of Patwaris are vacant. Examination and all other procedures for filling these posts will be conducted online. Its objective is to ensure total transparency in the recruitment process. Revenue Department will organise this exam after entering into agreement with MP Online.

Patwari is a district-level post and candidates must be domiciles of the district. An applicant can move online application for the exam by depositing the prescribed fees at a kiosk of MP Online. MP Online has fixed fees (service tax) of Rs. 593 for the exam. After the last date, applications received district-wise will be sent online to districts.

A committee will be constituted at the district level for tallying information given in the online application with original documents. The committee will tally online applications with original documents and fix eligibility of applicants on a particular date. After examination of documents, MP Online will take out admit card printout with photograph of the candidate. Admit card will be available online and can be downloaded by an applicant anywhere in the state.

On prescribed dates, eligible candidates can attempt the online exam at the exam centres decided by MP Online. Objective type question-banks consisting of two to three thousand questions will be prepared by Commissioner Land Records and Bandobast. Every candidate will be given separate questions to solve from this question-bank. After the written exam, candidates can see the results on the computer screen. But written exam's printout will not be provided to the candidate.
