Mumbai: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi is introducing from the 2018-19 academic year entrepreneurial Degree and Diploma programs and has asked the existing institutions to apply for approval so that they can run these courses.
"For optimum utilization of available infrastructure and resources in the AICTE approved Institutions, the Council has decided to introduce Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc), Diploma of Vocation (D.Voc), Diploma of Skill courses from the Academic Year 2018-19 at AICTE approved institutions.
"These courses will run by the institutes with the existing infrastructure available with the institutes", the AICTE said in an official notification.
Details of the newly introduced programs and their eligibility are given as under.
"Eligible institutions may run relevant course(s) using existing infrastructure and facilities as additional programme. Institute will conduct classes for General education component whereas AICTE recognized Skill Knowledge Provider (SKP)/Industry/Training Partner will impart hands on skills.", the AICTE said.
The courses include Automotive Manufacturing Technology, Automotive Servicing, Medical Imaging Technology, Industrial Tool Manufacturing )ITM), Production Technology, Software Development, Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI), Graphics & Multimedia, Painting & Packaging Technology, Travel & Tourism, Food Production, Electronic Manufacturing Services, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning etc.
