Lucknow: One person has been killed and four others were injured following clashes between two groups in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi district.
According to local media reports, Ashfaque Ahmed, a resident of Badagaon in Amethi's Jagdishpur municipality, was killed during shootout between two groups on Tuesday
The reports said Ashfaque was standing with his friends near Vijaya Bank when four youths came on two motorcycles and fired at them.
Ashfaque was killed in the shootout. Another person who was a bystander is also said to be injured in the firing between the two groups.
The area is said to be tense but under control. Additional police force has been deployed in the area and a probe is on to identifty the shooters.
The shootout in Amethi took place even as situation continues to be tense in Kasganj near Etah where clashes between two groups erupted on Republic Day. One person was killed and several others were injured in the violence.
