Malegaon Coronavirus Latest Update: The Textile City in North Maharashtra, Malegaon, has reported one death and 18 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, health officials said.
"The city had reported 5 coronavirus positive cases today morning. We have received reports of 15 more patients a little while ago. 13 of them have been found Covid-19 positive", a Medical Officer told ummid.com.
Malegaon Health Department had sent samples of 64 patients of Malegaon for testing Covid-19 infection. The department had received 22 reports today morning. Of them 5 were confirmed to be infected by Coronavirus.
Reports of 15 more patients recieved today afternoon. 13 of them - 7 males and 6 females, are found infected with the deadly virus, the official said.
"Reports of 27 other patients are still awaited", the Medical Officer said.
Malegaon reported coronavirus outbreak on Thursday when 5 of the local residents were found Covid-19 positive. One of the five died due the infection.
On Saturday, a Malegaon woman who was admitted at Dhule Medical College succumbed to Coronavirus infection. Her dead body was brough to Malegaon General Hospital from Dhule and taken directly to the burial ground for funeral on the same day.
"As per the guidelines and protocols to be followed after admission of Covid-19 positive patients in a hospital, we have sent the samples of 35 staff of Malegaon General Hospital. Their reports are also awaited", the health officials said.
