Malegaon Dhule Coronavirus Death

Malegaon/Dhule: A 22-year-old woman, who hailed from Malegaon in Nashik district, on Saturday died of COVID-19 in Maharashtra's Dhule district, according to the administration.

"The woman, who was suffering from severe anaemia and some cardiac issues, was admitted to the Dhule Medical College on April 7," news agency PTI reported citing the official communication.

The woman from Mominpura area of Malegaon was later tested positive for the coronavirus infection. "She died at 6 am," it said.

The dead body of the deceased was brought directly to Malegaon General Hospital from where it was taken for burial today afternoon, family sources told ummid.com.

Textile city Malegaon had two days ago reported 5 Coronavirus patients. One of the infected patients succumbed to the deadly virus on Wednesday.

The number of coronavirus patients jumped to 11 on Saturday from Friday's 09, health officials said even as they had sealed all the areas hit by the Coronavirus.

Dhule hospital too recorded the second covid-19 death. Earlier, a 53-year-old man from Sakri in Dhule district had died due of COVID-19.

Alarmed by the sudden jump in Coronaviurs cases in the city, Malegaon police have announced total lockdown till April 14. The police and health officials have urged residents to stay in home and cooperate with the administration.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra continues to be worst hit state in India with 1,574 Coronavirus positive cases followed by Tamil Nadu (911), Delhi (903) and Rajasthan (553). Maharashtra has also recorded the most number of coronavirus-related casualties at 110.
