Mumbai
to Host Career Festival Beginning Today
|
|
Mumbai:
Overwhelmed by the awesome response the career festival received
in April 2009, the organisers are gearing up to host it
again. The festival that was organised on the plush Saboo Siddique
College ground, Byculla (Mumbai) in April 2009, this year would be held at the same
place from January 08 to January 10.
"Last year we had organised the career festival in April for two
days. However, following the overwhelming response during the
festival and continuous requests and suggestions we received ever
since, we have decided to organise it in January and for three days
instead of two", says Kazmi Malik, one of the organisers.
April has always been a deciding moment for the HSC students in
Maharashtra to search for a viable career. Having just finished
their board exams, for the students the month is always abuzz with
hectic activities as they, along with their parents, hunt for better
career opportunities. The hectic activities for the Career Search
are more profound in Muslim students, as unlike their counterparts
from other religions, they are comparatively late in taking a
decision for a right but viable career.
However it immensely helped them when
Anjuman-e-Islam, Urdu Head Masters’ Association,
Association of Muslim Professionals, Students’ Solidarity Forum and
Vidharbh Welfare Association organized a Career Fest entitled
as Vision 2015 on Sabu Siddique College Ground,
Byculla in Mumbai.
“The career festival was a total innovation for the students from the Urdu
medium schools for they normally don’t get any opportunity to attend
such programs that could help them choosing a right career at a
right time”, Aamir Ansari, the program coordinator said while
speaking to ummid.com.
“This year”, Aamir added, “We intend to make the career festival more useful for the students by
joining hands with top-notch successful professionals from various
fields to explain to the students and their parents the rightful
ways to choose an appropriate career suitable for them. Also, this
year's ‘Career Stalls’ would be more
inventive where
professionals associated with reputed organization and belonging to
different professions will explain to the students about the desired
career options.”
The three day career festival between January 8 to 10 this year
would be jointly organised by Pearl Educational & Welfare Trust, Anjuman-i-Islam, Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), Kawish,
Urdu Markaz, and Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO
Mumbai) and others.
Highlights of the Career Festival
Talk shows with role models
