Gujarat boy wins AMU's National essay competition on Sir Syed

Altafhusen Mohmadyusuf Sheth of J. G. College of Commerce, Ahmedabad, Gujarat bagged the first prize of All India Essay Writing Competition on "Sir Syed's Vision and Efforts towards Education of Wome" organized by the Aligarh Muslim University, an AMU official said Saturday.

Rafeeq MP of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi and Syeda Ayeman Mazhar of Aligarh Muslim University got the second and third prize respectively, he said.

The All India Essay Writing Competition held for university and college students carried a cash prize of Rupees Twenty Five Thousand for first, Rupees Fifteen Thousand for second and Rupees Ten Thousand for third position.

Besides the above prizes, a cash prizes of Rs. Five Thousand are given to individual participants one each from different states as "State Topper".

Karn Satyarthi, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (West Bengal), Sk Juned Jafri, College of Basic Science and Humanities, Odisha (Odisha), Parwez Alam, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (New Delhi), Kruthika Prakash, National Law University, Jodhpur (Tamil Nadu), Akshay Pillay, National Institute of Technology, Raipur (Chhatisgarh), Faiyaz Ahmad of AMU (Bihar), Anshu Abhishek, National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Pratibha Gautam, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth Deemed University, New Delhi (Rajasthan), Neha Tiwari, Post Graduate Govt. College for Girls, Chandigarh (Union Territory), Shubham Gupta, Dogra Law College, Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir), Sadab Sheikh, Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Poona (Maharashtra), Deeki Lama Tamang, Sikkim University (Sikkim) and Ram Prasad Boda, Katuri Medical College and Hospital, Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) won the prize for state toppers.

Prizes will be given away to the winners at the Sir Syed Day commemoration meeting to be held on October 17, 2013 at 2 pm at the Kennedy Auditorium, AMU.
