New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Eductaion (CBSE) has released online the Admit Cards/Hall Tickets for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 today Saturday on April 22.The cbseneet.nic.in website, which was down since morning, is also up and operational, though a bit slow.
Candidates can follow the steps given as under to download their NEET 2017 Admit Cards. In case of any error found in the Admit Card/Hall Ticket of a candidate after download, he or she should immediately contact the CBSE. The details of CBSE contacts can be found on cbseneet.nic.in.
How to download NEET 2017 Admit Card/Hall Ticket:
- Go to CBSE NEET website: "cbseneet.nic.in"
- Click on the 'Download Admit Card Neet 17' link on the home page
- Enter 'Registration No.'
- Enter 'Date of Birth'
- Enter Security Pin as given in the box below
- Click on Submit
- Admit Card should appear on screen.
- Download and take a printout.
Please note that NEET 2017 e-Admit Card is a compulsory document to appear for the exam. CBSE will not issue or send Admit Cards to candidates through mail, post, courier or any other means. Hence a candidate must download his or her Admit Card/Hall Ticket and carry it along with AADHAR card for the exam.
Earlier, hundreds of thousands of candidates, who have registered for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 and are anxiously waiting for their Admit Card, were up for a shock Saturday morning when they logged in to the CBSE NEET website only to find it not working and facing some technical problem.
The visitors to cbseneet.nic.in are greeted with a message that "Our servers are facing a temporary problem. We regret the inconveneience caused. Please try again after some time."
"Sometimes even this message is not displayed. Some server error message in red appears on the screen", a student said while talking to ummid.com.
The problem was resolved at around 04:15 pm and the website was up by this time.
The Central Board of Secondary Eductaion (CBSE) was supposed to release online the Admit Cards/Hall Tickets for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 on April 15 but later postponed and scheduled it for release today i.e. Saturday on April 22.
"In view of the orders of Honble Supreme Court of India to accept the applications of candidates above 25 years of age, Admit Cards will now be hosted on Saturday April 22", the CBSE said in a statement released today.
Though the CBSE did not mention any specific time to release the NEET Admit Cards/Hall Tickets, if past records are any indication, it normally releases them any time before 07:00 pm on the day of release.
The CBSE had earlier tentatively fixed April 15 as the date to release online the Admit Cards/Hall Tickets for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017.
It however postposned the release of Admit Card to April 22 citing the Supreme Court order. Still, some newspapers added to the anxiety and pain of the waiting students by publishing unsubstentiated news that the Admit Cards were released on April 12 itself.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is a national level exam introduced in 2016 conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
This year the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be held on Sunday May 07, 2017.
The CBSE had earlier released the list of new centres where the the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be held on May, 2017.
According to the list released by the CBSE, the new centres are Guntur and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, Anand, Bhavnagar and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, Davangiri, Hubli, Mysore and Udipi in Karnataka, Kannur and Thrissur in Kerala, Ahmednagar, Amravati, Kolhapur and Satara in Maharashtra, Namakkal, Tirunelveli and Vellore in Tamil Nadu, Howrah and Kharagpur in West Bengal, Amritsar in Punjab, Jodhpur in Rajasthan and Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
These new centres are in addition to the list of centres already announced by the CBSE earlier, details of which can be found accessing NEET 2017 Information Bulletin.
A candidate qualifying NEET will be eligible for all India quota and other quotas under the State governments and Institutes irrespective of the medium taken by candidates, subject to other eligibility criteria.
he Health Ministry had in December declared that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission in medical colleges will be held in eight languages - Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu- for the academic year 2017-18.
Later on, Odia and Kannada were added in the list after Karnataka and Orissa governments picked up the issue and sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention for inclusion of their language in conducting NEET 2017.
A students body had filed a petition in the Supreme Court with a plea to conduct the NEET 2017 exam in the Urdu language. The court however ruled that NEET should be conducted in Urdu from next year i.e. 2018 onwards.
