Mangalore: The Karnataka Human Rights Commission (KHRC) has asked the Chief Minister and the Home Secretary to furnish all details of attacks on places of worships in the State since 2002 till date, its Chairman S R Nayak said today.
Addressing the press here, he said in a letter written to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Home Secretary, the Commission had sought details, including the number of cases registered, arrests made and those punished.
Justice Nayak allege there was 'utter failure on the part of the State Government and the Intelligence Department in identifying and containing the culprits and groups which had indulged in creating communal unrest in the State.
"If the Intelligence Department was not able to identify and arrest the culprits, why should such department exist?" he asked.
