Tronto: The Hilal Committee of Metropolitan Toronto and Vicinity and the Crescent Committee has announced that Eid al-Adha will be on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, North American Muslim Foundation (NAMF) said in a statement.
It said, Eid al-Adha prayers will be held at 9:00AM at Masjid Qurtabah, 4140 Finch Avenue East, Scarborough Ontario M1S 3T9. Imam Sheharyar Shaikh will lead the prayers.
Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states announced on Saturday that Eid al-Adha celebrations in the Gulf states will be on October 15. Saudi officials also announced that the Hajj Day - when pilgrims from all across the world gather at Mount Arafat will be on October 14.
Hilal Committees in India and Pakistan announced that they will will celeberate Eid al-Adha on October 16.
Tthe Moroccan Ministry of Foundations and Islamic Affairs announced on Monday that `Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on October 16 in the country.
Eid al-Adha, or "Feast of Sacrifice", is one of the two most important Islamic celebrations, together with `Eid al-Fitr.
