Jeddah: The
Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, Saudi
Arabia will
hold an international Qur’an seminar in Madinah. King Abdullah,
the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has endorsed the ministry’s request
in this regard, according to Sheikh Saleh
Al-Asheikh, minister of Islamic affairs.
The King Fahd Qur’an
Printing Complex will represent the ministry in organizing the
seminar titled “Qur’an printing and publishing: reality and
expectations.”
Several prominent Islamic scholars, academics,
experts in printing the holy book as well as officials of
governmental and private organizations and agencies from all over
the world will take part in the event, he said.
Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency Al-Asheikh, who is also general
supervisor of the complex, said that several research papers on
printing Qur’an will be presented at various sessions of the
international event. Apart from this, various experiments in this
regard will also be unveiled at the seminar.
The minister said that the participants will discuss five major
topics. They are: history of printing of Qur’an, scientific aspects
in the printing of Qur’an, technical ways in printing and
publishing of Qur’an, including scripts and materials used in the
production, technological means in printing and publishing the
holy book, and efforts being exerted by King Fahd Qur’an Printing
Complex in printing and publishing Qur’an.
