New Delhi: The Polit Bureau of Communist Party of India (CPI-M) Wednesay accused the Hindu right wing organisation of manhandling party General Secretary Sitaram Yechuri and disrupting his press conference in New Delhi.
According to reports, two slogan-shouting men tried to manhandle Sitaram Yechury in his Delhi office. Yechury fell down but did not get hurt in the attack.
"The Polit Bureau strongly condemns the efforts made by two persons claiming allegiance to an RSS outfit to disrupt a press conference being addressed by General Secretary Sitaram Yechuri at the end of the two-day meeting of the party's apex body", the CPI (M) said in a statement.
"Masquerading as journalists these persons tried to enter the hall where the conference was being held and started shouting slogans against the CPI(M)", the partys said.
"This is typical of RSS methodology of seeking to browbeat and intimidate the opposition. Such tactics will not be allowed to succeed", the party said.
